Performance Review critical for future success of Irish Rugby.

Paul MacKinnon, former High Performance Player Development Manager for New Zealand Rugby was ideally placed to carry out the reviews due to his extensive experience and knowledge of this area, and acted independently on the request of the IRFU. Mackinnon said “these reviews are critical for the on-going and future success of high performance rugby. High performance is about getting the right talent to work with the right people, in the right environment, at the right time to achieve the desired outcome…of being the very best.”
 

The reviews were held in June and July and looked at how key elements were working across the spectrum of the high performance game, from Under 16 talent identification right through to the successful development of academy players into senior professionals at an international level.
 

The results of the reviews are due to be presented to the IRFU in September.
